10's of Thousands of Burpees... Are You Nuts??

Perhaps a little bit. The official 10k Burpee Challenge started in 2018 on Facebook. A few crazy Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) Athletes decided to try and complete 10,000 burpees in 1 calendar year. The official event's founder, Dakota Dalsing, saw the challenge and jumped in. However, completing the challenge just wasn't enough. He wanted some "bling" as the racers call it to show off! So, he offered to create patches for anyone who wanted to join. That is where it started and it took off from there. In total, nearly 40 people participated in 2018. In the first 5 days of 2019 that number was surpassed for the 2019 year. Now, the challenge has expanded to include a 20k and now a 30k!

More About Dakota!

Dakota grew up the son of a Marine and was homeschooled from 3rd grade till graduation. An entrepreneur at heart, Dakota has attempted several personal business ventures since graduating highschool. In 2018, after hearing about a 10,000 Burpee challenge he decided to participate but wanted something to show for it. So, he offered to organize a group buy of patches. Almost 40 people signed up.
Dakota married his wife, Rebecca, at the end of 2018 and together they are working to make 10k Burpees the best yearly challenge around. Both Dakota and Rebecca love encouraging and challenging people to be the best they can be. 2019 has shown that people are interested in participating in challenges to better themselves. The first 4 days of the year the challenge had already surpassed the total participation of 2018.​

Why should I sign up?

Sure 10,000 Burpees are a lot, but when you sign up your getting involved in a lot more than you realize. When you sign up and follow our group page there are a bunch of people that bring daily encouragement, tips and advice, and just a good support group. As much as people hate doing Burpees there are good health benefits that come along with them. Not only is it a cardio workout, it is a full body workout! What better time to start then now! Our company is built on some principles. We want to exercise as much discipline in our business dealings and personal lives as you guys do while completing thousands of burpees! That is why we are determined to do 3 things:
1. Never do anything that might poorly reflect our Savior. Jesus Christ said (in Mathew 22) that the greatest commandment was to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." That means in everything we do we need to put God first. This value influences all of what we do and all of our other values.
2. Treat other like we would like to be treated. Jesus said the 2nd greatest commandment (also in Mathew 22) was like the first, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Loving God means loving others. We are always going to strive to treat all of our customers like we would like to be treated-no matter what. Customer service is more than just a good business practice. It is a way to glorify our God!
3. Encourage people to get fit! At the end of the day, doing burpees is all about getting fit and meeting goals! We believe in the burpee as the most universal exercise available and we believe it can give you results! The 10k Burpee Challenge is all about encouraging and empowering you to get fit, stay fit, or take your fitness to the next level! No matter who you are, where you are from, or what your life is like, we want you to join us and make your goals happen!
